CANOPE PHARAOH

Hand-carved limestone sculpture representing the bust of a pharaoh, the ancient Egyptian rulers, pharaohs were both the heads of state and the religious leaders of their people. The Canope shape refers to Canopic Jars used by the ancient Egyptians during the mummification process to store and preserve the viscera of their owner for the afterlife. They were commonly either carved from limestone or were made of pottery.
